[6/10 10 p.m. Update]: A Twitter spokesperson reportedly said the Walker team was not at fault for the tweet and the incident is being looked into. Our original story is below:

With less than 140 characters, Gov. Scott Walker announced Friday evening he is running for president on Twitter.

Whether the social media move was intentional or not, Walker’s Twitter account sent out an image that clearly states the governor’s candidacy.

While the tweet wasn’t on Walker’s timeline, it was viewable for several hours before being taken down.

The Governor is expected to formally announce his bid on Monday in Waukesha. So far, the reactions to Walker’s early, and possibly accidental, announcement have been mixed.

Walker also formally unveiled his campaign logo on Friday.

Walker has been teasing the reveal of his campaign logo over social media for the past week. After its release, some people noticed similarity to an eyeglass company logo, America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses.

While the similarities might be bad optics or just pure oversight, it looks like Walker and his logo are here to stay.
