Police arrest man after Sellery Hall disturbance, @UWSelleryHall tweets confusion

University of Wisconsin police were called to Sellery Hall at about 4:20 p.m. Monday for an individual causing a disturbance by knocking on doors in the residence hall and refusing to leave the property.

UW Police Department spokesperson Marc Lovicott said the individual became “combative” and aggressive when approached by officers. Lovicott said police then used a taser on the individual.

“We subdued him and arrested him before taking him to the hospital to be evaluated,” Lovicott said. “A taser was deployed.”

Lovicott said an officer injured his hand in the altercation and was taken to the hospital, treated and released. Neither the name of the suspect nor the charges against him are being released at this time.

Sellery Hall, apparently confused, tweeted this during the events in attempt to understand what was happening:
