Woman knocked unconscious outside Stoughton Road club Saturday

Madison police are searching for a suspect who allegedly knocked a woman unconscious during a fight outside of Club LaMark on North Stoughton Road early Saturday morning.

A police report said the victim and her boyfriend were asked to leave the club after she had gotten in a fight with another man she knew there. The report said the other man also left the club and the argument continued outside.

The victim was then punched in the face by the other man, whose name has not been released. The victim was not breathing and had no pulse when police arrived, the report said. It said the sergeant performed chest compressions on the 31-year-old woman, saving her life.

Madison police spokesperson Joel DeSpain said the victim had regained consciousness by the time the paramedics arrived and took her to the hospital.

“The preliminary outlook was that she was going to be okay,” DeSpain said. “We have an idea of who the suspect is but he has not been located yet.”
