Naked man found ‘pistol whipped’ on Williamson Street Sunday morning

A 31-year-old man was found on Williamson Street early Sunday morning naked and injured.

According to police, the victim had been spending time with a man and woman inside a home for a few hours when two other men arrived at the residence. The two men then beat and robbed the victim.

Madison police spokesperson Joel DeSpain said though the victim knew the people he was with originally in the house, he did not know the men who robbed him later.

“He believes he was set up by the two people in the residence,” DeSpain said.

One of the two unknown suspects was allegedly carrying a handgun and used it to hit, or pistol whip, the victim.

Police arrested the man and the woman in the house, Angelica Cleary and Ralph Howland III, under charges of being party to an armed robbery, the report said.

Officers are still looking for the two male suspects who entered the home later.
