Kicking off a round of public videoconferences, University of Wisconsin System president finalist Robert King answered questions from staff, students and the community at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery in Madison Monday morning.

According to reporting from the Associated Press, King emphasized his past experience as a New York legislator and Kentucky educator in the session.

The report also said King would make working more closely with the Legislature his top priority if selected for the UW System president position.

The session was broadcast to 28 UW System locations at 11:30 a.m., with later sessions planned for finalists Raymond Cross at 2:30 p.m. and Peter Garland at 3:45 p.m.
