With still three years to go until the 2016 presidential election, polls are showing Gov. Scott Walker with a slight edge among Wisconsin Republicans over U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan.

The Marquette Law School Poll landed Walker four points above Ryan — a result opposite than September’s Public Policy Polling data.

Ryan now stands as the second choice with 25 percent of Republican voters, with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie tying for third at 9 percent, according to the Marquette Law School Poll.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stands as the frontrunner for Democratic voters with 64 percent, with Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Vice President Joe Biden at 11 percent each.

Walker also trails Clinton 41 percent to 53 percent.

Respondents also were surveyed about the $100 million property tax cut passed Oct. 20 by the Legislature, in addition to support for same-sex marriage, expansion of vouchers for private schools, mandatory ultrasounds before abortions, legalization of marijuana and the proposed casino in Kenosha.

• Fifty-six percent of voters favored the $100 million property tax cut, while 36 percent oppose.
• Fifty-three percent of voters support same-sex marriage, while 24 percent favor civil unions and 19 percent do not support any legal recognition for same-sex unions
• Fifty percent of voters favor marijuana legalization, while 45 percent oppose.
• Forty-one percent of voters support the proposed casino in Kenosha, with 38 percent opposing and 19 percent undecided.

The margin of error was +/- 5 percentage points.
