A group tours the new Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery building, located on the 1300 block of University Avenue. The building is less than one month away from its Dec. 2 grand opening and will house private research enterprises of the Morgridge Institute for Research as well as public research enterprises of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation. The building includes a restaurant, cafe and town hall area to facilitate the exchange of ideas. Gov. Jim Doyle announced the construction of the building in 2004, and thanks to a $50 million donation from UW alums John and Tashia Morgridge in 2006, which WARF and the state matched, construction of the building could become a reality.[/media-credit]
