No arrests made after Langdon armed robbery

Police have not arrested anyone in connection with the armed robbery of a home on the 200 block of Langdon Street Wednesday night.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., an unidentified suspect entered a Langdon Street apartment and threatened a male with a handgun, demanding money. The suspect left the area on foot after stealing an undisclosed amount of cash and property.

The alleged suspect is an 18- to 23-year-old black man last seen wearing a red baseball cap, red bandana, blue jeans, red jacket and black tennis shoes.

Lt. Cameron McClay said Langdon Street is “by no means a high-crime area,” but he said alcohol-related disturbances and an occasional battery plague the area.

“Burglaries in the area are usually during spring break,” McClay said.

Because the burglary took place relatively early in the night, McClay said students should take the general precaution of locking their doors at all times of the day. He also reminded students to travel together when they go to the bars at night and always tell friends where they are going and when they expect to arrive.
