In photos: drone shots of fall foliage from above

For if you need a pick-me-up

The last traces of chlorophyll vanish from the leaves as ever-colder winds blow in from Lake Mendota, signaling the arrival of another Wisconsin winter. As fall gives way to frost, little time remains to celebrate the warm autumnal hues of Madison’s foliage.

To best capture the scope of the city’s fall colors we took to the air, flying over the city by drone to document and appreciate the seasonal vibrancy of our local plant life. Take a look at our best photos below:
