CIA to "influence" Iraqi elections

Written by Rob Hunter

A major cornerstone of Bush's defense of his foreign policy is his claim that, thanks to US intervention, Iraq will now be able to hold free and fair elections. Following the discovery of an alarming internal memo, the Administration is claiming that the CIA won't be used to rig the purported upcoming elections in Iraq per se--it just wants to make sure pro-US candidates win. The only thing more ridiculous than this is the news that Saddam Hussein plans on being the comeback kid of the elections if and when they happen.
