At approximately 8:45 tonight, police used tear gas to disperse crowds of more than 1,000 protesters near the Republican National Convention.

While the protest began peacefully early in the day, as police attempted to break up the crowd, they ended up loosing several rounds of tear gas into the crowd, also using pepper spray.

Several protesters were injured and taken to temporary clinics, assisted by volunteer street medics.

As of 10:00 p.m. police were still actively patrolling the area.
