The man accused of breaking into a home on West Washington Avenue and possibly having ties to the Brittany Zimmermann homicide is a registered sex offender.
According to WISC-TV, the 42-year-old man, who is now in custody on parole violations, was convicted of sexually assaulting a former girlfriend in 1993.
As a result, WISC-TV reports the man is a registered sex offender for the rest of his life. Additionally, he spent time in jail following five drunken driving offenses.
