There’s a new toll-free hot line to report government waste, fraud and abuse in Wisconsin.
The Legislative Audit Bureau will answer the hot line and decide whether complaints merit further investigation.
The hot line will be answered by a staff member during regular business hours. After that, messages can be left on a machine.
The number to call is 1-877-372-8317.
The law requires that the caller’s identity be kept secret, but callers are encouraged to provide as much information as possible to assist the investigation.
A form available on the Audit Bureau’s Web site also can be mailed in for those who don’t want to call.
