Madison police said Friday they have received 75 tips surrounding the homicide of University of Wisconsin junior Brittany Zimmermann.
Potential evidence found in Zimmermann’s Doty St. home where she was killed Wednesday is being processed by the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory, according to an MPD release.
Police are particularly calling on anyone who was in the Doty St. neighborhood during the day and into the night of Wednesday, April 2 to come forward with any information they might have.
Investigators are looking into several cases of at least one individual approaching residents’ doors at all hours. As The Badger Herald reported this morning, at least two cases involved a man asking for $40 to fix a flat tire of his car parked on West Washington Avenue.
Police might arrest some individuals on unrelated charges in order to question their possible involvement in the Zimmermann case.
Madison and UW police officers continue to heavily patrol the Bassett neighborhood. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 608-266-6014.
