The Wisconsin women’s basketball team made it to its second straight and fourth overall WNIT postseason tournament by earning an at-large bid and a first round bye. The previous three times the Badgers participated in the WNIT they made it to the finals, winning it in 2000 and finishing as the runner-up in 1999 and 2007. Overall, UW is 13-2 in WNIT tournament and has a 13-0 record in WNIT games at home.
Wisconsin will host the winner of the matchup between American University and Villanova Saturday at 7 p.m. at the UW Field House. Wisconsin has the possibility of hosting up to five more home games should they make it to the finals again. Tickets can be ordered through the UW ticket office at uwbadgers.com or 608-262-1440 or 1-800-GO-BADGERS. For the first four rounds tickets are $8 and $4. The semi-finals and championship match tickets are $9 and $5.The Badgers will be joined by Michigan State, Illinois Indiana, and Michigan from the Big Ten.
