Illinois
continued its improbable run through the Big Ten Tournament with a 54-50 win
over Minnesota. Seniors Shaun Pruitt and Brian Randle led the charge with 16
and 11 points respectively. The Illini will now face the Badgers in the Big Ten
Tournament finals tomorrow. Wisconsin
won both meetings between the two teams this year, 70-60 in Madison Jan. 10 and
71-57 in Champaign Feb. 20. This will also be the third meeting between these
two teams in the Big Ten Tournament finals with UW winning in 2004 and the
Illini coming out on top in 2005. As
a No. 10 seed, Illinois will be the second highest seed in the finals in
tournament history. The Illini made it to the finals in 1999 as a No. 11
seed. The game
will be televised nationally on CBS and starts at 2:30 p.m. The Badgers are
going for their second tournament title, while the Illini are after their third
and are playing for a trip to the NCAA tournament
