GREEN BAY (AP) —
Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre is going back on the cover of
Sports Illustrated — this time for a commemorative special edition that
hits newsstands and book stores Monday. The magazine says the 84-page tribute will honor Favre’s career following his retirement this week after 17 seasons in the NFL. It
will be the third time since December the magazine has featured Favre.
The other two were in weekly editions that required extra printings
because of their popularity. About 850,000 copies of the Favre commemorative edition will be sold nationwide. It will cost $7.99. SI
group editor Terry McConnell says the commemorative edition will have
essays, photos chronicling Favre’s 16 seasons in Green Bay and a
tribute from players and fans.
