Cycling champion Lance Armstrong says when he comes to Wisconsin next week to push for a statewide smoking ban it will mark the first time he’s ever been asked to do that. Since
ending his racing career, Armstrong has become more involved in raising
money to fight cancer and other issues related to the disease. But Armstrong said Friday that he’s never been asked to come to a state to help get a smoking ban passed. Wisconsin’s
proposed ban is tied up in the Legislature under opposition from the
Tavern League and lawmakers who don’t want bars to be included. Armstrong is holding a rally in Madison on Tuesday and a news conference in Milwaukee.
