The University of Wisconsin announced early Thursday morning classes would resume as usual Thursday morning.
Officials cancelled classes Wednesday afternoon and evening after nearly a foot of snow blanketed the area.
In a statement, UW officials said “students who feel it is unsafe to travel to campus are encouraged to contact their professors or teaching assistants about making up missed class time. … Supervisors, faculty and instructional staff are asked to be flexible and grant all requests.”
Snow and ice cover many campus streets and sidewalks, but Madison Metro bus routes 80 and 85 are back up and running.
