LIVE BLOG: Rose Bowl, Wisconsin v. Oregon

Welcome to the Badger Herald Live Blog! I’m Kelly Erickson, sports content editor here at the Herald, joined by Elliot Hughes, sports editor, coming to you live from the Rose Bowl in sunny Pasadena, Calif. We’ll be bringing you all the action as the Badgers (11-2) take on the Oregon Ducks (11-2) as UW hopes to finally claim another Rose Bowl title after losing to Texas Christian 21-19 only a year ago.

The Wisconsin football team finally arrived The Granddaddy of Them All after a long season that started with great hope and expectation. UW started off the season on a six game winning streak, solidifying itself atop the Big Ten, only to lose two in a row on the road on last-minute hail-maries to Michigan State and Ohio State. Wisconsin won out, gaining a berth into the inaugural Big Ten Championship game.

Facing off against Michigan State once again, Wisconsin completed its second-half comeback, winning 42-39 and earning a trip to the Rose Bowl for the second year in a row.

Certainly the story lines have been about Oregon’s speed, Wisconsin’s titanic offensive line and ultimately UW’s methodical style of football. Keep it here all night as all the action from the 98th Rose Bowl game unfolds.
