Madison, WI — The Wisconsin football team is ranked 22nd nationally in the Football News’ preseason top-25 list released Tuesday.
The Badgers, 9-4 a year ago, are joined in the publication’s top 25 by fellow Big Ten rivals Northwestern (13th) and Michigan (15th).
Miami (Fla.) is the Football News’ preseason No. 1 team.
Wisconsin opens the 2001 season by hosting Virginia in the Eddie Robinson Classic at Camp Randall Stadium on August 25 at 1 p.m. CDT.
