Charlie Wills, a senior forward on the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team, is one of 12 players selected for the 2001 Big Ten Foreign Tour, announced by the conference office Monday.
Indiana Head Coach Mike Davis will lead the team on a six-game tour of England and Ireland from Aug. 8-19.
Wills, a native of Angola, Ind., saw action in all 29 games during the Badgers’ 2000-01 season, earning nine starts while averaging 4.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 15 points in the Badgers win over 13th-ranked Maryland and had his first career double-double (12 points, 10 boards) versus UW-Milwaukee. Wills has never missed a game during his Wisconsin career (97 straight) and is one of two seniors on the UW’s 2001-02 roster.
Also selected to compete for the Big Ten are Nick Smith of Illinois, Tom Coverdale and Kyle Hornsby of Indiana, Duez Henderson of Iowa, Gavin Groninger of Michigan, Al Anagonye and Adam Wolf of Michigan State, Shane Shilling of Minnesota, Tavaras Hardy of Northwestern, Sharif Chambliss of Penn State and Kenneth Lowe of Purdue.
