The first Chinese meal in Madison I ever had was at A8 China. Being from Detroit and Buffalo, I had grown accustomed to the finest ethnic cuisine. But A8 left me unsatisfied and disgusted. I feared my thirst for great Chinese would never be fulfilled. But I got that and more at Asian Kitchen — with low prices, huge portions and great taste, the value can’t be beat for takeout in downtown Madison. Personal favorites include sweet and sour chicken and General Tso’s chicken. Lunch specials run around $5 and include an entrĂ©e, fried or white rice, an egg roll and a cup of soup. Dinner specials are a little more money and you don’t get the soup, but they’re still a great deal. Orders are done quickly for pickup — in as little as 10 minutes. Delivery goes until 3 a.m. most nights so you can satisfy your late night munchies with some scrumptious pork specials. You can even eat in the restaurant’s quaint little shop at Broom and State. For good Chinese eats at a price that can’t be beat, hit up Asian Kitchen for your breakfast, lunch, dinner and post-bar needs!
