ASO to #768. You know what? You're right. Latin's entirely irrelevant to modern life. Except in chemistry, I guess. Oh, and biology, too—the taxonomies are almost exclusively Greek and Latinate. And since 60% of all English words are Latin loan words, I suppose it's relevant to etymology. And foreign language! Of course! How could I have forgotten that 800 million people worldwide speak languages directly descended from Latin? I'd ask if you're pissed at Latin just because you didn't graduate cum laude, but then I'd have to write another ASO to explain what "cum laude" means.
