The Wisconsin State Journal broke the story on Oct. 18 of Gov. Scott Walker’s bald spot, which has recently shined in the internet spotlight of Facebook fandom.
According to a WSJ cartoonist who regularly creates political caricatures, Walker told him the exposed area near the crown of his head arose from an unlucky encounter with a cabinet, and when he finally went to see a doctor, he was told hair would no longer grow in that area.

Most middle-aged people would just own up to male pattern baldness.
However, that naked piece of skin, which is becoming commonly referred to as The BaldSpot™ and PateGate™, with its elaborate back story has reached mini-celeb status, adopting a personality of its own on Facebook. Aside from Photoshopping Walker headshots into the state seal and an image of Princess Diana, Walker’s bald spot addresses both FOB (Friends of Bald) and regularly mentions “Guvna” (Walker) in textual posts. One of the more recent posts states, “As a mere bald spot, my shiny pink gleam generally flies under the radar, but lately, due to PateGate™, I have been gaining much more attention.”
Clearly, Walker’s dome has done much to act as naked relief during this tired gubernatorial campaign season.
