In response to “Count down to Olbermann’s irrelevant exit” by Ryan Masse:

O’Reilly is wildly conservative, but willing to attack both sides for the ratings. It’s the “Ann Coulter” style of commentary. Olbermann will adjust appropriately. They’re all opportunists, no matter how big the grains of truth they leave behind.

In response to “Pragmatism needs a voice in debate over gay rights” by Jason Smathers:

“The religious right cannot force their version of God’s will onto the public any more than homosexuals can demand the populace recognize or understand their love.” Seems to me like the religious right and small-to-moderate majorities are doing a whole lot of forcing.

In response to “Why our sheriff should get the ax” by Kyle Szarzynski:

People who come to this country illegally have made the conscious decision to take advantage of the many benefits and services available in our communities. In doing so, they have accepted the possibility that they will be deported. Any violotions [sic] of human dignity associated with deporting these individuals is a worthwhile concern, but there is no valid argument that the deportation itself is unwarranted or unforeseen by the people in question. Perhaps you could explain why illegal immigrants should be allowed full protection of the laws that benefit them while remaining immune to those that do not.

In response to “Proposition 8 exposes a new prejudice” by Laura Brennan:

First of all, there is nothing wrong with being anti-homosexual. It doesn’t make you a bigot, or any other flavor of the week leftist hate speech word. The argument of trying to compare alleged homosexual discrimination with that of the blacks is so flawed that I don’t even know where to begin. The fact of the matter is that homosexuality is wrong, plain and simple. Relationships are based on the hope that those involved will reproduce to keep the human species going. That obviously can’t happen with gays. I could write for hours and continue to provide facts that would allow me win this argument, but I’ve done it so many times with this paper that it is just old. The bottom line: homosexuality is wrong, unnatural, and is essentially human species mutation. Those who are don’t deserve equal rights or benefits because they aren’t humans like the rest of us, they are essentially mutants.

I cannot fucking BELIEVE the BH would give whatever stupid fuck wrote that response to Laura Brennan's article print space. YOU, sir or madam (and I would bet a TRILLION dollars that it's a sir) are exactly the reason that this country should legalize retroactive abortion RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND.

"Relationships are based on the hope that those involved will reproduce to keep the human species going."

If you think marriages are only for sex and procreation, you're terribly ignorant. Explain why 70-year-olds with no sexual ability or desire choose to get remarried. Is there more to marriage than your sex-centered brain can comprehend? Is there a partnership, companionship, and legal trust that is advantageous to marriage? Of course! This debate is not about sex.

"those involved will reproduce to keep the human species going"

There are plenty of people who do not/can not/don't want to reproduce yet make major contributions to keep the human species going. Having children is only a part of what is required to keep the human species going. In fact, I think that it can be argued that too many people are reproducing. Many problems can result from a species population booming past the capacity of the environment.

So would mentally handicapped people be considered sub-human mutants, seeing as that's what causes mental retardation?

Wow, I can't even comprehend how much inbreeding must've occurred for the creation of ignorance of that magnitude.

Human species mutation? Like dark skin for people living in sunny locations, like Africa?

Anonymous (November 15, 2008 @ 9:32pm):

Isn't white skin the mutation?

All humans are originally from Africa, some left a long time ago.

>>By definition your entire diatribe is bigoted. Just think of the consequences of your statements, the infertile and those who simply don't want kids should be denied marriage.

"The argument of trying to compare alleged homosexual discrimination with that of the blacks is so flawed that I don’t even know where to begin. "
>>Please! Begin. I'd love to know how bigotry differs from bigotry.

"Relationships are based on the hope that those involved will reproduce to keep the human species going."
>>Do you realize how many unwanted children there are? That the world is facing overpopulation? Yet you're obsessed with couples reproducing! Perhaps one day poetic justice will find you infertile, and you'll be forced to realize that love has nothing to do with reproducing.

If you have any actual arguments, I'd love to hear then. But until then, if you're anti-gay marriage then don't get one and let deserving people have a chance at happiness.

Anonymous (November 17, 2008 @ 4:09pm):

let's all hope that YOU never end up marrying to reproduce, because we sure don't want a bunch of miniature versions of you running around spouting hateful messages like this. the clear mutant in this situation is you and i don't think i need to explain why that's the case.
