An incredibly interesting primary season has developed for both the Republican and Democratic parties that began with the Iowa caucuses. Sen. Hillary Clinton, an unlikely underdog but an underdog nevertheless, found herself in third place after Iowa and facing an uphill battle going into New Hampshire. Multiple polls had given Sen. Barack Obama a two-digit lead in the Granite State, but by the end of the day on Jan. 8, Ms. Clinton had won 39 percent of the vote to Mr. Obama’s 37 percent.

Exit polls in New Hampshire indicated that many voters were deciding on a candidate in the last few days before the primary, even right up until voting, and that the economy was the most important issue for many of them in making their final choice. Ms. Clinton has been concerned about the economy for quite some time and has campaigned about her efforts to pressure the Bush administration to take the necessary steps to move us away from our current path, one which she sees leading us into a recession.

Ms. Clinton has a clear plan to jumpstart our economy and move toward a more positive economic future. The backbone of this plan is strengthening the American middle class and lending a helping hand to those Americans in need. The American middle class is struggling to makes ends meet in a country with growing income discrepancies. Ms. Clinton will help Americans by lowering taxes for the middle class (instead of just the wealthiest, who are receiving tax cuts right now).

In addition, the cost of health care has become a growing burden for Americans, and Ms. Clinton is committed to making it affordable for all. These are just some of her many initiatives to get the American economy back on track.

However, she realizes that many Americans are facing hardships right now because of the current economic conditions. Unfortunately, more and more Americans are facing housing foreclosures as a result of the sub-prime mortgage crisis. Ms. Clinton has developed a plan to help these families get back on their feet by having a 90-day moratorium on foreclosures. Not only is the housing crisis an incredible hardship for many individual families, but it also has far-reaching effects on the general economy. Ms. Clinton will establish an Emergency Housing Crisis Fund that sets aside $30 billion to help cities and states deal with the growing number of foreclosures.

Ms. Clinton also sees how rising energy costs are hurting American citizens and the economy in turn. She will provide $25 billion in energy support to American families struggling with the overwhelming cost of heating bills this winter. In addition, she understands the importance of energy independence and renewable energy sources to the American economy. Ms. Clinton will invest $5 billion in energy efficiency and alternative energy sources to help both our environmental future and provide new green jobs for Americans.

Finally, she will invest $10 billion in unemployment insurance for those Americans who are struggling to find jobs. For Ms. Clinton, it is important to make sure that the American economy flourishes and works for each and every citizen, and that no one is left out in the cold.

Ms. Clinton understands what is important to Americans and is developing pragmatic and effective ways to face the challenges ahead. Her success in New Hampshire was a clear sign that Americans trust her. As we move toward Super Tuesday and the other remaining primaries across the country, voters will once again place their trust in her, allowing her to take the nomination and the White House.

Obamas has been crying since he lost every primary since Iowa, where 17yr olds (who can’t vote in general election) and Bill Richardson supporters put him over the top, otherwise he would have lost there too. The media has told the country that SC is a racist black only vote. So why would anyone other than the only 1/2 black candidate stay there. John Edwards is wasting his time in SC per the media. I don’t think that ALL SC voters are as racist and naive as the media wants to portray them. It’s an attempt to help Obama because his camp has made fools of the media. It took voters and an ex-president to bring his terrible senate record, bush/Chaney backing, republican loving, lack of good judgment and inexperience out in the open when the media tried to hide it. Frankly we are tired of obama crying! If he crashes so quickly because he’s getting caught with corrupt campaigning funds with Rezko etc… what would he do when foreign leaders come at him? Run crying too, or call Oprah for help? …Just what we cannot afford to take a chance on. Giving pre-written church speeches does not make a President. And having his wife, Michelle Obama stumping throwing out racial comments is disgusting! No one sees her as first lady material; we don’t even see her as a lady! No one was crying when obama camp was attacking Hillary? And ALL the media treating her unfairly. She has proven that she is a strong leader after all the attacks she has endured and over come. Thank God the voters are smarter than the media and obama give them credit for. DONT WASTE VOTES ON OBAMAS, WE DONT NEED A RACIST IN THE WHITE HOUSE Obama’s spiritual adviser, J Wright gave Trumpeter Award to a man it said “truly epitomized greatness. Louis Farrakhan. maybe for Wright and some others, Farrakhan “epitomized greatness.” For Americans, Farrakhan epitomizes racism, particularly in the form of anti-Semitism. Over the years, he has compiled an awesome record of offensive statements, even denigrating the Holocaust by falsely attributing it to Jewish cooperation with Hitler “They helped him get the Third Reich on the road.” His history is a rancid stew of lies. Any praise of Farrakhan heightens the prestige of the leader of the Nation of Islam. His anti-Semitism and particularly his false insistence that Jews have played an inordinate role in victimizing African Americans. Farrakhan’s dream has vilified whites and singled out Jews to blame for crimes large and small, either committed by others as well or not at all. (A dominant role in the slave trade, for instance.) He has talked of Jewish conspiracies to set a media line for the whole nation. He has reviled Jews in a manner that brings Hitler to mind. And yet Wright heaped praise on Farrakhan. According to Trumpet, he applauded his “depth of analysis when it comes to the racial ills of this nation.” He praised “his integrity and honesty.” He called him “an unforgettable force, a catalyst for change and a religious leader who is sincere about his faith and his purpose.” These are the words of a man who prayed with Obama just before the Illinois senator announced his run for the presidency. Will he pray with him just before his inaugural? The New York Times recently reported on Obama’s penchant while serving in the Illinois legislature for merely voting “present” when faced with some tough issues. Farrakhan, in a strictly political sense, may be a tough issue for him. This time, though, “present” will not do.

UNDERDOG? Are you kidding me? Lowering expectations going into every single primary or caucus so far should not enable a self-label as an underdog, nor as a “comeback kid.” Leading in state and national polls weeks ago by multiple double digets means Hillary FELL significantly, not came back. Its about time people realized she can not unite the country nor does she have the policies nor personality to restore trust in the government.

Get real.

Money for nothing and your chicks for free!

Meg, cut the crap! You just want a woman president. I’m voting for a white male candidate this time.

WHITE MALES RULE!!!

Housing foreclosures! Yeah! That’s what will appeal to student voters!

How bout you tell me what Hillary will do for us?

The problem is teen/younger voters dont realize how important economic issues are. They still get money from mommy, that’s why.

That’s why Barack likes Reagan’s tactics so much - he wants people to vote against their economic interests.

Even MLK said that civil rights is about economic issues. But hey, what does he know right? He was only the man who led the civil rights movement of the past century.

NObama NO-8

The remedy for the economic problems of the nation is socialism, complete with negative income taxes, and very high taxes on those foolish enough to save money. Both parties seem to be in agreement with this.
