I was looking at Friday’s Badger Herald. When I turned to the comics page, you guys always make a comment under the difficulty level. I must say, I am extremely offended to see “Ann Coulter loving a Jew” as the comment today. Is that supposed to insinuate not liking Jews? Wouldn’t you think people would find this comment offensive? I’m really surprised with the most prominent student paper, especially when Jewish writers contribute to The Badger Herald.
I hope you take this into consideration and see how disrespectful it is on many levels — since this is certainly not the first time a comment like this or a ‘coastie’-related remark was made.

oh please, i'm a jew, i'm not offended. That comment is on Ann Coulter's bigotry (she recently made anti-semitic remarks, google it) and i think it reflects badly on her, not on jews.
Anonymous (October 15, 2007 @ 12:58am):
Do you know who Ann Coulter is? Just wondering.
Anonymous (October 15, 2007 @ 6:01am):
i agree, the comment is most likely a remark resulting from ann coulter's recent interview on cnbc (the latest in a constant stream of idiocy).
don't take yourself so seriously.
Anonymous (October 15, 2007 @ 7:21am):
She was recently on TV on the "Big Idea" and said that all people in the U.S. should be Christians. There was some tension between her and the Jewish interviewer Donny Deutsch regarding her statement.

i think it's in on record by now that ann coulter loves jews - they just need to be "perfected" first. I'm sure she's thinking up a perfection camp with perfection showers as we speak.

THIS IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARD THE LIQUIDATION OF THE LANGDON STREET JEWISH GHETTO!

Controversial (yet humorous) remarks are part of the Badger Herald. It's meant to be funny. That's all.
Great, as if CA majors don't get enough crap for being unintelligent already.. here we go.
Anonymous (October 15, 2007 @ 9:11am):
why do you assume all coasties are jews? ignorant.
Anonymous (October 15, 2007 @ 10:27am):
I'm curious: How many Jews are there on the current BH staff?
Anonymous (October 15, 2007 @ 11:07am):
Read "A Distorted Reality" in the comics page today. It explains the Sudoku rating. This girl apparently doesn't read any other form of news, but yes, you all probably should start fleeing the Langdon Street Ghetto. Kristallnacht is upon us. Retards.

I completely support freedom of speech unless it's in a newspaper or against my people, you know, Students.

You have to be kidding. That particular comment is in no way bigoted against Jews. As for "coastie" remarks, if they aren't against a certain racial or ethnic group, who really cares? Coasties bring ridicule on themselves.
Anonymous (October 15, 2007 @ 3:31pm):
I am Jewish and I am not offended by that at all. It is an attack on Anne Coulter, not Jews. And people wonder why we always get attacked for pulling the anti-semitism card too fast.
Anonymous (October 15, 2007 @ 5:12pm):
Well, I'm the girl who according to some "doesn't read any other form of news."--Which by the way is completely untrue. By no means was the letter meant to be published and there were several other emails that went along to the editor about my initial reaction. Clearly I made a bigger deal about it then it was meant to be, but I wanted to say something about it. There's nothing wrong with that.
Sincerely,
Amanda

I completely and utterly agree with Amanda Levine. If someone finds a comment to be offensive, good for them to stand up.
Anonymous (October 15, 2007 @ 6:37pm):
If the letter wasn't meant to be published, then you shouldn't have sent it or at least indicated that it shouldn't be published. There is nothing wrong with it, but bear in mind, once you say it, you open yourself up to criticism, some constructive, some unconstructive.
