This school year each UW-Madison student paid $730 in student segregated fees. Where exactly did that money go and who approved of the distribution of funds? Most students care about how their hard-earned money is spent but don't realize that they can directly influence how ASM spends their money.

Segregated fee policy, like other campus issues such as campus safety, affordable education and diversity, is largely dictated by ASM, but every student can have a say in how ASM represents their interests. Making your voice heard through shared governance does not require endless hours of committee meetings or in-depth participation, and this spring it can be done without leaving the convenience of your home. The easiest and most effective way to participate in shared governance is to vote in the ASM Spring Election, and it will only take minutes out of your day.

Starting at 8:00am on Tuesday, March 20 and running through 8:00pm on Thursday, March 22, the polls will be open for each and every student to participate in shared governance. Online voting will be available again this year, which makes the process extremely accessible and convenient regardless of where you are located on or off campus. Simply click on the link on the MyUW homepage or visit the ASM website at http://asm.uwsc.wisc.edu/spring2007 to cast your vote.

The entire Student Council (33 seats) is up for election, as well as three seats on the powerful Student Services Finance Committee (SSFC). Senior class officer positions are up for election as well. Students can also decide whether or not to financially support the United Council of UW Students through a referendum. For more information about the candidates, issues and ASM in general, visit the ASM webpage.

Here is your chance to change campus, right from the comfort of your computer chair. What do you have to lose?

Lets see if the online voting system works this time. More importantly lets see if the students decide to vote this time.
