To the surprise of no one, for the third year in a row The Badger Herald emerged victorious from the romp in the mud that was Saturday’s Herald-Cardinal softball game. Normally, accounts of Herald victories are reported in the Dirty Bird, but we’re not holding our breath after last fall’s tale of Herald football prowess failed to see the light of day. Suffice it to say the 6-1 Herald slugfest was fought under cold rain, forceful winds and the watch of professor James Baughman, the game’s fair and objective umpire. Clearly, domination in print extends to the diamond — the jury is still out regarding positions on high-risk drinking.
