So much for ASM representing students. Last night the city’s Alcohol License Review Committee was scheduled to discuss the proposed drink-special ban — undoubtedly a student concern.
But we failed to see any ASM representatives in attendance either last night or at the campus hearing last week. It seems the powers that be have other student issues to attend to — like raising tuition.
Unfortunately, the ALRC does not care about students either. The committee postponed discussion of the proposal until April 25, meaning the City Council will probably end up discussing this major student issue when most students are home for the summer. Hopefully by then ASM will remember that its job is to represent students, not just tax them.
