The editor of The Badger Herald sucks.
Now how are you feeling about this? I have never met you and know nothing about you. If someone said something derogatory about you, would you like me to defame you in front of thousands of people — especially since I never even bothered to find out if the information was true?
Maybe you understand a little about how I feel about the letter to the editor regarding me. Maybe you could have called me to get further information.
I have financially supported your paper for many years through ads and have respected your views and journalistic style. This is why I am more than shocked that you would treat a person (or don’t landlords qualify?) this way.
Two things are true in the letter my resident wrote: I do care about collecting the rent and I do care about each of them personally and where they will spend eternity.
I, too, was once headed joyfully down the road to Hell and received some information that changed my life. I do make it a regular practice to share that information.
No one has to take it. They may burn it or throw it away. The consequences are in each person’s hands.
Maybe my resident should explain why she renewed her lease if I’m so bad. Maybe she should give back all the free pizza I gave her (and all my residents). Maybe she should give back the money I provided for work she did in her apartment that I didn’t have to give her. Maybe anyone can take a tour of any of the units I manage, and critique the work and effort I have put into fixing up old buildings for almost 20 years.
And finally, it is simply untrue that I am “bribing” anyone for me to show the apartment before the 15th. I did offer $25 if current residents are willing to allow others to see their place at the new prospective residents’ initiative.
Of course, it would be cheaper to just say, “Go look, and I’ll give you nothing for your cooperation.” So, before judging the book by the cover, check inside.
