Wednesday night, the Student Services Finance Committee heard the Multicultural Student Coalition’s multi-million-dollar budget request.
Well, most of them did.
Conspicuously absent from tonight’s hearing were three of SSFC’s most fiscally responsible members: Joel Urmanski, Matt Modell and Rob Staude.
Monday night, Urmanski, Modell and Staude will be called upon to make a decision on the MCSC’s budget. It will be SSFC’s most important decision of the year. Unfortunately, their decisions will not be informed ones.
Student government certainly is not glamorous. That’s why we elect willing students like Messieurs Urmanski, Modell and Staude to go to the meetings and make important decisions. Everybody had something better to do Wednesday night than go to a committee meeting. But that’s why we elected these three amigos in the first place.
