One person suffered a non life-threatening injury after being shot at a blood bank near Madison Area Technical College early Friday afternoon.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a man went to the plasma center to conduct business and had a gun in his clothing which accidentally discharged, DeSpain said. The shot hit an uninvolved person who suffered a non life-threatening injury, he said.

The suspect fled the scene and MPD are still trying to locate him, DeSpain said.

It does not appear that the suspect directly threatened anyone or entered any schools, according to an incident report from MPD.
