A homeless man was attacked by a group of people late Sunday after making small talk with a woman in the area around North Frances Street, according to a police report.
The police report said 44-year-old man had been talking with a woman in the 500 block of North Frances Street when a man allegedly walked over and punched the victim.
The victim believed the man was the woman’s boyfriend, the report said. The woman and another couple allegedly hit him as well, the report said.
The victim said he thought one of the women shot him with a BB gun, but no BBs or BB gun was found at the scene, the report said.
When a witness approached the suspects, they fled, according to the report.
The victim had some bumps and bruises but was not seriously injured, the report said.
