With President Barack Obama nearing his 100th day in office, almost two-thirds of Americans polled said they approve of the job he is doing.

In a poll released by the Pew Research Center Thursday, 63 percent of respondents said they approve of the job Obama is doing while 26 percent said they do not approve.

According to the Pew Research Center’s newest poll, the president’s job approval rating is up from 59 percent in March, with 93 percent of Democrats and 30 percent of Republicans approving of the way the president is handling his new job.

Forty-five percent of respondents said they very strongly approve of the president’s job, including 73 percent of Democrats.

Along with the high job approval ratings in all three polls, nearly three-fourths of Americans — including 46 percent of Republicans — have a favorable opinion of Obama as a person, according to the poll.

Obama’s approval rating is higher than those received by both former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush during the same stage of their presidencies.

Americans also greatly approve of the president’s various policy positions, with 61 percent approving of his foreign relation policies and 60 percent supporting the president’s handling of the economy. However, only 50 percent of the respondents responded favorably toward Obama’s health care, tax and budget policies.

Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Alec Loftus said he believes the president has taken important steps toward repairing the U.S. economy and foreign relations.

“[He] already passed the most ambitious recovery package in history … and President Obama has enacted tax breaks for 95 percent of working Americans and has taken steps to make college more affordable while extending health care coverage to millions of Americans,” Loftus said.

As Obama continues his first year in office, Loftus expects him to focus on foreign policy and “repairing our frayed alliances” around the world.

Kirsten Kukowski, spokesperson for the Republican Party of Wisconsin, disagreed with Loftus.

“In a few short months, President Obama has racked up more spending and debt than anyone thought imaginable, leaked memos on interrogation techniques that has left our country less safe, and made a difficult economy worse with his extreme policies,” Kukowski said in an e-mail to The Badger Herald.

University of Wisconsin freshman Blake Henderson said he both agrees and disagrees with various aspects of the Obama presidency.

“I think what I value the most about him is his ability to examine issues from both perspectives, instead of solely doing what the Democratic Party thinks is good,” Henderson said.

Henderson added he is “slightly disappointed” that Obama has not followed through with some of his campaign promises.

UW freshman Patrick Reed also said he agreed with a majority of the president’s policies, saying he believes his “moderate approach” has been effective in accomplishing his policy goals.

In a similar poll conducted by The Associated Press and GfK Roper Public Affairs released Wednesday, respondents gave the president a 64 percent approval rating. A Gallup Poll, updated daily, gave the president a similar approval rating Thursday, with 65 percent of respondents saying they approved of Obama’s job thus far.

All praise for Our Dear Leader, the “Welcome Back Carter!” administration! His fine Leadership is crippling our domestic economy, our intelligence gathering capabilities, and emboldening our enemies!

Our Dear Leader is showing complete ineptitude and weakness in foreign affairs, as he reverently bows deeply to muslim dictators, smilingly accepts antiAmerican tirades from south American marxists, shows joy in meeting communist Daniel Ortega, and cripples your economic future under unrecoverable mountains of pork barrel national spending and debt.

That is not enough, however. He is actively working to cripple our economy. The “CO2 Cap and Tax” scheme he and the Democrats are pushing will levee huge taxes on all conventional energy sources (coal, oil, natural gas, gasoline, diesel fuel, etc. ad nauseum). This tax on energy will hit every corner of the US economy and every citizen, bar none. It will hit the poorest families hardest, as gasoline and home heating costs account for a greater portion of their meager income. He is breaking his promise that most Americans will not have their taxes raised. You can now honestly put your “Obama Lied!” bumper stickers on, Citizens.

The truly pathetic aspect of the CO2 Cap and Tax scheme is that it provides a chimeric solution to a nonexistent problem. The hypothesis of Man Made Global Warming has been refuted thoroughly by hard data and analyses from a host of climate, geology, archaeology, physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, ocean, and environment scientists. More than thirty two thousand American scientists have signed a petition affirming that Man Made Global Warming is a false hypothesis.

As our planet continues in a now nearly decade long cooling trend while C02 emmisions continued to increase, the radical enviros continue to push the frippery that CO2 is pollution and the root cause of a nonexistent Global Warming. In congressional testimony today, only supporters of the Global Warming hypothesis were allowed to testify. Opposing testimony was eliminated. The Democrats refused access to invited scientists that flew in from around the world to offer their expert analyses of countervailng data. So much for an “open and honest” debate. So much for an “open and honest” administration. So much for the promise of bipartisanship. In an act of sheer oxymoronic irony, Our Dear Leader burned 9000 gallons of jet fuel to deliver an “Earth Day” speech in Iowa. All Hail Our Green and Global Warming President!

Think, Citizens. Your own common sense can provide guidance. Do you really believe that every mammalian exhalation is pollution? Do you believe that the essential molecule for all plant growth on the planet should be classified as “pollution” by the Environmental Protection Agency? Do you believe that we should eliminate the source of 90% of the energy consumed in the US to provide a nonsolution to the radical left’s nonproblem? Really???

Moving from the Obama crippling domestic policies to the potentially treasanous foreign affairs blunders, our enemies are emboldened by Obama’s apparent weakness and ineptitude. From intercontinental ballistic missle lobing nuclear nut cases in North Korea and wannabes in Iran right on down to piss ant pirates grabbing American ships off the African coast, our enemies are becoming more aggressive. Both North Korea and Iran are holding American citizens hostage today. The Obama administration response has been to cripple our intelligence gathering capabilities while hamstringing any efforts to secure the US borders. Our Dear Leader couldn’t even be bothered to offer a comment on high seas terrorism, while American maritime citizens were being held hostage. Thank God for the last remnants of American rugged individualism, as demonstrated by the American crews efforts to repulse the arabic pirates with prejudice. Thank God for the last remnants of our Special Forces and US Navy, as they executed the rescue of Captain Phillips with extreme prejudice against the muslim terrorists. Given all of the other apologies Obama has proffered for “past American agressions”, one wonders when he will apologies to these maritime hijackers?

Our enemies are not stupid. They see the President’s policies are substantially weakening our ability to defend our nation and our national interests. They will use this inept administration’s self defeating policies to their certain advantage. When our nation gets hit hard again by terrorists, remember how your support and praise for Our Dear Leader contributed to the catastrophy!

The president’s approval is nearly identical to the job rating George W. Bush received at the same point in his first term, as 63 percent of Americans approved and 22 percent disapproved (April 18-19, 2001). One noticeable difference is that approval of Obama is much more divided along partisan lines today than Bush’s ratings were eight years ago.

Gallup reports that 56% of the public believes that Obama is doing an excellent/good job. Gallup reported 62% approved of George W. Bush’s job performance after the first 100 days.

For some strange reason this point did not make it into the Gallup press release.

Too bad BHO’s ratings aren’t as high as GW Bush’s at 100 days.

More too bad that the MSM will never tell antbody that.

The AP is trumpeting a new poll showing that for the first time in many years, a MAJORITY of Americans believe America is headed in the right direction.

At first read you might ask yourself, how the heck is this possible?

Well it’s easy is you totally jack the sample. This poll includes (get ready for it) only 18% REPUBLICANS! 18%!

I guess that’s what they had to get to to reach their majority saying America is headed in the right direction.

This is an 18 point sampling advantage given to Democrats. Folks, the communist state has arrived. AP is Pravda.
