The man accused of causing a campus scare this week including a bomb threat at University of Wisconsin Hospital was arrested in San Diego Friday morning.

Jesse Miller, 19, was taken into custody by San Diego Police officers at a naval hospital after they were called by military police for a man with a questionable identity.

According to SDPD spokesperson Monica Munoz, Miller was posing as another individual and after fingerprinting was conducted he was arrested on a probation violation.

"Miller is currently being held in the custody of the San Diego Sheriff's Department on his warrant," Munoz said.

Munoz said officers took him into custody without incident early this Friday morning.

Just hours before his arrest Miller called Madison television station WKOW claiming to be his brother attempting to explain a mistaken identity.

WKOW reporters recorded their lengthy interview with Miller who explained how similar he looks to "his brother" and even admitted he could be considered a threat to others if put in a dangerous situation.

According to UW Police Sergeant Jason Whitney, Miller will likely have his extrication hearing Monday transferring custody to Dane County officials before returning to Madison.

"Dane County corrections and sheriffs will work now on figuring out how to get him back here," Whitney said.

Whitney said the investigation is ongoing and will need to continue analyzing evidence before they will know what Miller will be charged with.

Jeez, that's one smart psycho! Plant a threat to do some major mayhem on a nearby college campus while quietly trekking across the country. He sure had everyone fooled!

But of course, it was fun to watch a bunch of rowdy beer-guzzling college kids scared for once. Sorry to sound callous, but it kinda makes up for all the crap they cause in this town all year long.

Classifying all UW-students as "rowdy beer-guzzling college kids" is rude, inconsiderate, uncalled for, and unfair, whether or not you apologize for being "callous" or not. No matter what, NO ONE DESERVES be be threatened or put into an unsafe situation. I find it hard to believe that someone could find such humor in a situation that could have put myself, or dozens of other college students at risk.
You have no right to claim that all students cause so-called "crap" in Madison. The students MAKE Madison what it is, and it's with the help of students that UW-Madison has become such a successful university. You have no right to say any of us deserve to be in possible danger. No right.

Oooooh! 8:31pm gonna spell it out! He gonna open up a can o' whoop-ass! Look out, y'all! 8:31 be da man! He go wack on yo ass wid a quickness!

Seriously, dude, you need to grow up and stop being so sensitive. I'm sure 11:25 was just having a little harmless fun. You gotta admit he's right. We students do tend to get a little crazy sometimes. And those whom we irritate are bound to take a little enjoyment in our misery when the opportunity arises.

Fine. Next time I won't apologize. I'll just say it straight out and you can eat it, bucko.

"No matter what, NO ONE DESERVES be be threatened or put into an unsafe situation."

And we would appreciate it if you college brats would show the same respect for the community in which you live and learn.

Get back on your meds, will ya!

8:31, you are so pathetic. You college students act like you got your acts together all week long. Then, on the weekends, you piss that squeaky clean image away by getting drunk and making asses of yourselves. The scorn you're getting is well-deserved and long overdue. It's no wonder all the wackos in the world are attracted to college campuses. You deserve them.

Anonymous (October 1, 2007 @ 12:06am):

Whoa, where did these bitter adults come from? So apparently, because 8:31 is a college student in Madison, that automatically qualifies him/her as a drunk. Huh. I see how that works. Isn't that like a foreigner who's never been to the US saying that all Americans are fat? It might be funny, and it might seem true, but it's obviously a load of crap.

Put it this way: if you're living in Madison, you're not a college student, and you don't like college students, get the hell out. In case you hadn't noticed, this city would be nothing without UW. NOTHING. Trust me, I've been to many college campuses around the country, and Madison is up there as far as college-dominated cities. So nothing personal, but just go find somewhere else to live if you've got a problem with college kids. Sheesh.
