Also by Tom Schalmo:
University of Wisconsin lecturer Kevin Barrett and fellow Scholars for 9/11 Truth member James Fetzer will discuss their thoughts on the events of Sept. 11, 2001 Sunday.
As part of the presentation titled "9/11: Fact and Folklore," Fetzer said he will be providing an in-depth look at "what we know now that we didn't know" five years ago.
Barrett has recently come under the scrutiny of some Wisconsin politicians, many of whom are calling for his termination from UW.
"If [legislators] come, they'll discover how massive the evidence is," Fetzer said in an interview with The Badger Herald.
Fetzer has requested State Rep. Steve Nass, R-Whitewater, attend the presentation on Sunday. Nass criticized the UW administration for allowing Barrett and Fetzer to speak in a taxpayer-sponsored building.
"[Nass] has an obligation to the citizens of Wisconsin to show up," Fetzer said. "He's raised so many questions based on his own ignorance. There's ample opportunity [to hear our side]; he should take advantage of it."
Nass also urged UW to not allow "9/11: Fact and Folklore" on campus.
"Kevin Barrett and the Scholars for 9/11 Truth can't prove their conspiracies, so they simply hide behind the official sponsorship of UW-Madison to add credibility," Nass said in a statement.
Other state leaders — including both Gov. Jim Doyle and U.S. Rep. Mark Green, R-Wis. — said previously that Barrett should not be teaching at UW. Doyle told The Badger Herald earlier this fall that he trusts UW to make the right decision regarding Barrett and his lectures.
Green, on the other hand, reaffirmed his stance this week that Barrett should be fired.
"The university needs to terminate Mr. Barrett immediately," Green said in a release. "He has soiled the good name of our proud UW System too many times and made a complete mockery of academic freedom."
Fetzer said the state leaders in Minnesota have not criticized him as Wisconsin has criticized Barrett, potentially because Fetzer has a longer record in Minnesota than Barrett does in Wisconsin.
"I was a long-term faculty member," Fetzer said. "I had published 27 books, had a distinguished professorship, and I was in a more secure position."
Fetzer added that right now, many of the claims Republicans, in particular, are making are "political stunts."
"Republicans are scoring cheap political points," Fetzer said. "I can assure you, [Nass] does not know what he's talking about."
Fetzer also said that students will learn something at the presentation because of the "profound effect" 9/11 has had on Americans' lives.
"[Sept. 11] was a pivotal event of the 21st century," he said. "It's being used to justify wars of aggression on nations that did not attack us."
Barrett will speak about 9/11 from the "perspective of folklore," Fetzer said.
In addition, Fetzer will present a nearly $8,500 check to UW on behalf of Veterans for Truth, which has raised money to compensate for the Ozaukee County Board's withholding of UW funding in protest of Barrett's employment.

when and where is the event?
Never thougth I’d say this…this makes me ashamed to be a grad.
if you plan on attending it you are retarded, all of the info. that they have is crap. it is uttely ridiculous
Sunday, Social Sciences 62?? 2:30-4
Well, well, Wellstone. Seems Wisconsin’s Ward Churchill is now bolstering his nutroots support with Professor Fetzer— who believes Paul Wellstone was assassinated, Israel is identical to Nazi Germany, and America is a terrorist state.
Does the Biology Department have a tranquilizer gun available for campus police to employ when these rabid barking moonbats begin foaming at the mouth?
Barrett & Fetzer are two very good reasons for on-line university education: No political & idealogical subversion during lectures.
It’s too bad that they use their platforms & professorhood to “influence” impressionable youth to their point of view. Thank GOD I don’t have to physically attend academia!

More discussion on the motives for 911 would also be interesting.
Shock and Awe: Achieving Rapid Dominance
Maybe this should be combined with a semenar on holocaust denial? And don’t forget to cover that FDR conspiracy with the Emperor on the Pearl Harbor attack so that he could get the USA into WW II.
“Folklore” - ya right. Talk about spin. I have no doubt in my mind who was responsible for 9/11. I find it very revealing that no professors of engineering have added their voices to the conspiracy cadre. Only academics closely associated with the left could possibly believe this moonbat bull!
THE FATE OF ALL MANKIND IS IN THE HANDS OF FOOLS.
If the critics will just listen to the massive amounts of hard evidence and science they will be shut up or have to admit that they are denying reality. There are a list of questions that the naysayers NEVER answer because they, and the Govt., cannot. 9-11 was a setup plain and simple and it can be proven to any persons satisfaction if they are honest. That leaves most politicians out, sadly. They will deny the evidence no matter what as the implications are too staggering for them to contemplate. Shame on them for trying to stifle the truth.
When you examine conspiracy you should try to uncover who profits from it. 9/11 gave somebody the excuse to steal Iraqi oil. 9/11 gave somebody the excuse to violate the Bill of Rights and Constitution of the US. 9/11 gave somebody the excuse to bring down the country of Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson. 9/11gave somebody the excuse to perpetrate crap in your pants terror alerts for the American public. 9/11 gave somebody the opportunity to put right-wing Republicans totally in control of the Senate, House and White House. Do you believe that all of this could have occurred if 9/11 did not happen? In my opinion the European monarchs control this country and the right-wing Republicans are their lackeys. What can we do about it? We can do absolutely nothing because we are fleas challenging an evil elephant to a tug of war. About the only hope we have is the knowledge that two evils can't live in the same kitchen, namely the political right and the religious right. This fact will result in a nuclear extinction of this planet, unfortunately taking the twenty five percent of the masses that have decent maturity, intelligence and character with them. We will not be alone because in my opinion there are trillions of charred cinders floating silently in space. I believe that out of every one hundred trillion civilizations only one survives nuclear extinction. One civilization out of every trillion of civilizations had a great leader intelligent enough to kill the two evils in their cradles before they became five hundred pound gorillas. These civilizations that have existed for billions of years are rewarded with ineffable high level of spirituality and technological abilities.
But then all religious classes should be in the School of Mythology and Folklore.
I’ve been researching all the conspiracy theories for the past year and a half, and NONE of it could be considered hard evidence! Yes, I would like to see Bush and his cronies fry for the mess they got this country into, we can’t accomplish that by way of wishful thinking. I’m happy that people aren’t buying all the lies and half-truths Bush is trying to feed us all, but you want to build a rock-solid case against him you must come up with something that is unmistakenly convincing.
can Bush&co be stopped or will they kill us all. Bush doesn’t care because God told him so and the rapture will protect him from the ‘evil doers’
What’s the value of a public official who won’t listen to the dissenting voices?
there are plenty of legitimate questions to ask about 9/11, but they aren’t the ones the conspiracy theorists trump.
How come 4 airliners could be hijacked over a period of two hours whithout being even aproached by interceptor jets in spite of long standing interception procedures?
How could the hijackers who had NO flying experience fly these sophisticated jets so precisely into their targets?
How could the towers fall when the melting temperature of stell is 1600
90 minutes of pure demolition evidence and analysis, laced with staggering witness testimonials. Moving from “the myth” through “the analysis” and into “the players,” careful deconstruction of the official story set right alongside clean, clear science. The 9/11 picture is not one of politics or nationalism or loyalty, but one of strict and simple physics. How do you get a 10-second 110-story pancake collapse?

Many skeptics of the official reports have asked salient questions that have not been addressed by those official reports produced by FEMA or NIST, or have not been found credible explanations of certain aspects of the collapse of the buildings. For example, if fire caused the collapse of the buildings, as supporters of the official theory allege, why do the buildings collapse at free fall speed? Why wouldn't they topple over if one side had been weakened more than another? In other words, why are all three collapses perfectly symmetrical? What are the odds of that not being a case of demolition? The trusted 'experts' have offered no suggestions why these buildings fell with all of the classic characteristics of controlled demolition. Additionally, none these buildings burned nearly as long or as intensely as fires in other skyscrapers around the world over the last 75 years, some of which burned thoroughly for days without collapsing. Historically, it is noteworthy that only in the case of demolitions do steel-framed skyscrapers fall down at free fall speed. Why? Because the the structural steel frame's resistance to collapse would provide resistance to collapse—a great deal more resistance than air. Indeed, never, other than allegedly on 9-11, have fires caused steel-framed skyscrapers to collapse. Why wouldn't a fire/damage-based collapse outcome, no matter how unlikely, be more similar to earthquake damage with parts of the structure still somewhat intact? Why would most of the concrete be turned to pyroclastic flows of dust as is common only in demolitions—never before in the cases of partial collapses due to earthquakes or fires? Again, the official 'experts' have no credible reply that I've yet come across; indeed, NIST, in its official reports, and other government-paid experts do not even consider such questions. It is not just that the three complete collapses look like demolitions, they all share the essential features of demolition and some of those features like near free-fall speed have a greater probability—much greater—of being due to demolition than to fire. If the building had showed signs of sagging, then after burning for a day, had partially toppled over, that would have been consistent with the historical record of fires, even if the toppling would have been unlikely, it might have been plausible if it had happened where the planes struck the building. The fact that buildings contained air, as you say, is no reason for them to fall symmetrically as you claim, nor any reason for them to fall at near free-fall speed.
I would like to see a qualified person examine the debris from 9/11 and debris form condemned sports stadiums and housing developments to see if they both have the same chemical "finger prints". Is lung disease prevalent in contiguous areas where the sports stadiums and housing development where bought down? Granted the occurrence of lung disease would be on a smaller scale. The implication of all of this is that the right-wing government we currently have is at war with the American people and the most risible thing is the American people didn't vote them in, it was rigged. Unlike the pope I have an eraser on top of my pencil, but I believe the right-wing government's game plan is to bring down the quality of life and living standards of the American people because this is the only way to their liking that would correct the lopsided trade deficit. If allowed to go on it will make the thirties look like an era of prosperity. An analogy to this supposition would be a family that is taking in one thousand dollars a week and paying out thirty thousand dollars each month in bills. Borrowing funds and using credit cards would temporarily allow this to go on, but it portends an economic disaster is awaiting this family.
“9/11 gave somebody the excuse to steal Iraqi oil.”
What a ridiculous cannard. Saddam would have sent us plenty of oil, especially if we had let him have Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
If it’s all about the oil why didn’t we just take Venzuella? It’s closer and could have been taken with light troops in a few days.
Good for you guys, Fetzer and Barrett, I commend and thank you both for all your courageous endeavors
I was at Cooper Union 10 Sept, that was very encouraging
Stay strong
Conspiracy theories are nothing more than wishful thinking. Where are the sources? What scientific evidence is there that the Twin Towers’ collapse was similar to that of a controlled demolition? How can they be proven to be “engineered” to the exclusion of all other possible explanations?
Answer those questions before you resort to calling me a “Bush-supporter” or a “Republican.”
Barrett is nothing more than an attention whore.
Where is this event to be held???
The evidence that does exist must be evaulated objectively and not dogmaticaly dismissed. Governments have performed terrorist acts against their own people in the past so this must be considered a possibility. It is said that the people are more likely to believe the big lie than the small one.
“What a ridiculous cannard. Saddam would have sent us plenty of oil, especially if we had let him have Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.”
Saddam was actually about to start selling his oil in Euros which threatened the US dollar. He was obviously not cooperating and besides this way Exxon may not have to buy the oil at all.
“If it’s all about the oil why didn’t we just take Venzuella? It’s closer and could have been taken with light troops in a few days.”
This is complete garbage for a variety of reasons. One, because have tried to take Venezuela covertly by attemping a coup in 2002 and we will likely continue those efforts. Two, Iraq has 3 trillion dollars worth of oil and natural gas and is an excellent place strategically, for the furthor conquest of Iran etc. Three, Venezuella has a much greater military force than Iraq. Iraq had incredible sactions on it for years and it’s military was outdated. Venezuella is modernizing their’s and rightfully so. They are worried that they will be invaded. Also your assertion that light troops with be sufficient is absurd and is similar to the logic of the administration. The difference being that in Venezuella Chavez is a democratically elected president and has popular support. So instead of with Iraq the majority would already be against any fictitious liberation. Plus I am concerned that you are so eager to invade and overthrow a democracy. Iran is a democracy too.
ho! hum
In reply to the Wellstone murder discussed in this anonymous column I would like to add my two cents. The FBI was at the scene of the airplane crash almost immediately. They arrived long before the other principal investigators arrived despite their office was further than the other principal investigators. To arrive at the scene so quickly would only be possible if they knew it would crash and were it would crash. If this is true their motive would be to destroy any evidence of sabotage and kill any people in the plane that still were alive. It was desirable to kill Wellstone because he was ahead in the polls and would give the Democrats control of the Senate if he won the coming election. In reply to Building 7 does anyone know how a building can be pulled (use explosives to bring it down on a small footprint) requested by the owner to the fire chief, when it would take weeks or months beforehand for the technical placement and installation of these explosives (to bring down a building this way is a difficult and scientific procedure)? In reply to the righties calling anyone that believes in a conspiracy a leftist (a poop smearing tactic). You got it wrong; a leftist is an American that has a different point of view than you do. In reply to Democrat and Republican I feel there's no need to know anything about politics except seminal knowledge. This knowledge is that the Democrats are seventy five percent for the rich and twenty five percent for the average guy. The Republicans are ninety nine percent for the rich and 1 percent for the average guy. Being an average guy I will take the twenty five over the 1 percent every time (with the current crop of right wing republicans it probably is less than 1 percent). At the moment it is futile to even to vote because the Democratic Party is a castrated party that has the job of fulminating about the evils the right is doing to the quality of life and living standards of Americans without the ability to change things and to show two levers in the polling booth (one lever being a fraud). In reply to the righties calling people who believe in conspiracies leftists, I would like to remind the righties of a verity. A true patriot is one who will criticize his government when it is in the wrong and defend his government when it is in the right. The German made a mistake when they didn't criticize Hitler and many of them are suffering to this day. In reply to the righties when they use smear tactics instead of objective argument. You ain't fooling nobody (at least the twenty five percent of decent Americans that posses intelligence, maturity and good character). In reply to the John F. Kennedy murder it is odd that despite Oswald being a commie any further investigation was stifled by the extreme right despite the fact there could be more commies under Kennedy's death bed. It was at this time that the right made the word "conspiracy" the definition of a nut case and to this day it is as bad as the coitus word. The two capitals of right-wing extremism are Dallas and Los Angeles, does that tell you something? Warren and Connally after Kennedy was the next two most hated by the right. After Warren's investigation and Connally's change of party from do-good Liberal to right-wing Republican they mysteriously became the darlings of the right. Connally became a right-winger, in my opinion, because his wife was terrified that the evil right would kill him.
