The Dane County District Attorney's office officially charged three individuals Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault on the 500 block of University Avenue Sept. 4. If convicted on all charges, the individuals could face life sentences in prison.

Marcus Bonner of Madison, age 21, and Anthony Feda of Waukesha, age 20, were considered the main actors in the case and face one count of kidnapping and eight counts each of first-degree sexual assault.

Mario Orlando-Amaya of Madison, 26, was also charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault. According to Assistant District Attorney Mike Verveer, each individual count of sexual assault results in up to 60 years imprisonment, while the kidnapping count equals up to 40 years.

In court Wednesday, the victim said she was behind Ian's Pizza at 2:30 a.m. Sept. 4 gathering bottle caps to use in her artwork, and was attacked by two males, allegedly Bonner and Feda. As the two began to sexually assault her, she said, three other men walked out of Ian's Pizza to take out the trash and witnessed the assault.

When police spoke to Orlando-Amaya on Sept. 7, he confessed to both witnessing the action and to taking part in the assault, Verveer said.

Rob Haugen, a partner of Ian's Pizza, said Orlando-Amaya was suspended from his job without pay.

"We are truly saddened by this incident," Haugen wrote in a letter last week. "[We] are doing everything in our power, along with the Madison Police Department, to ensure that something of this nature will not happen again."

According to Verveer, Bonner and Feda returned to Ian's Sept. 6, where Orlando-Amaya recognized them and instructed his manager to call the police.

Detectives were able to identify both Bonner and Feda, with the help of University of Wisconsin students Martin Ball and Jordan Stenzel.

The accused allegedly bragged about the incident to Ball and Stenzel, who then read about a similar incident in The Badger Herald the next day, Verveer said. They reported the incident to the police and later identified the accused in several photos, he added.

Bonner and Feda are both being held on bail. Orlando-Amaya will make his initial court appearance this morning, when he will officially be charged.

Marcus Bonner is a disgusting person. He is manipulative and dirty. No one really knows who he is. He needs to be in a mental institution for the rest of his life, prison will only allow him to infect other people with his horrible mind!!! This guy is crazy and deserves everything he gets!
