A 20-year old woman was attacked while walking home early Sunday morning. The woman, a University of Wisconsin student, was walking on the 10 block of South Randall Street at 12:45 a.m. when she was struck in the head from behind, leaving her unconscious, according to the police report.
The woman later regained consciousness behind a building on Bowen Court. The victim reported nothing was stolen from her or her purse, and sustained no injuries beyond the head injury. The woman was treated at a local hospital and was released Sunday. The attack occurred just hours after a 33-year old woman was pushed to the ground and robbed of her purse while walking the 3000 block of Atwood Ave. around 10:55 p.m. Saturday night.
The Madison police said they do not believe the attacks are related. Both suspects are still at large. If anyone has information about either of the attacks they are advised to contact Crimestoppers at 266-6014.
