Meng-Ju “Mark” Wu has been charged with three counts of first-degree intentional homicide and is being extradited back to Dane County from his New York City jail cell despite efforts against the move.
A judge overruled Wu’s latest and last attempt to stay in New York City. The Dane County Sheriff’s Department has said it will bring Wu back to the state but will not provide details regarding when he will arrive. The Sheriff’s Department notes security issues as the reasons for refusing to offer this information.
Wu, 19, was an international student from Taiwan at the University of Wisconsin at the time of a June 26 shooting in a Verona home.
It has been speculated that the shooting occurred due to gambling debts Wu owed to one of the men killed in the incident.
