The Student Services Finances Committee allocated segregated funds to two student groups at its Monday night meeting.
The Student Leadership Program was given $35,000 and the Tenant Resource Center received roughly $60,000.
The Student Leadership Program asked for $43,000, up from the $31,000 the group was given last year. SSFC considered the $12,000 increase too much for the program.
The Tenant Resource Center’s funding request passed with little discussion of its original proposition.
Two groups’ funding fates will be decided at Wednesday’s SSFC meeting. The student radio station WSUM requested $277,000 for the year’s operational costs.
SSFC chair Aaron Werner said some changes are needed in WSUM’s proposal dealing with stipend salaries, which are set salaries. Such stipends are currently not allocable by SSFC rules. Werner added that these stipends could be changed to hourly wages, which is allowed by the SSFC.
Vets for Vets requested $32,000, which met with little conversation and is expected to pass, Werner said.
