Police arrested a suspect Tuesday in connection with the shooting at Stillwater’s Sunday night and have charged him with substantial battery.
Altwan D. Cross, 33, was arrested for his involvement in a disturbance prior to the shooting, according to Madison Police Sgt. Jim Dexheimer.
“That’s the reason we’re not in too much of a hurry — because we know he’ll be in jail for a while,” Drexheimer said. “We have a lot of witnesses to talk to, and a lot of statements to take.”
Sgt. Emil Quast said the case would wrap up soon.
“I assure you the public is not at risk, and you’ll see why in the next couple of days,” Quast said.
