Madison has declared a snow emergency, and cars parked on the odd-house-numbered side of the street last night were ticketed $20.
All cars not parked on the even-numbered side of the street tomorrow night downtown will also be fined $20.
The tickets are issued so that snowplows can cover both sides of the street before the snow packs to the ground.
Students can park in ramps for free tonight until 7 a.m. due to the emergency but must pay for any additional time in the ramp after 7 a.m.
A snow emergency is declared when more than three inches of snow falls in a day.
