Nearly two weeks after an 18-year-old student living in Ogg Hall told police she had been raped, a suspect has been named and charged with second-degree sexual assault.

An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for London A. Triplett, a 29-year-old resident of Milwaukee.

Triplett identified himself to the victim with a false name when they met at a hip-hop event a week prior to the alleged assault, University of Wisconsin police said.

The day the alleged assault occurred, the victim was in Ogg and walking toward the cafeteria when Triplett approached her, attempting to kiss her on the neck, the criminal complaint said.

The victim said that when Triplett asked to go up to her room, she refused. Feeling uncomfortable, she walked to the elevator to go upstairs. Triplett followed her into the elevator and into her bedroom, sitting on her bed. When she said she wanted to go get something to eat, Triplett replied, ?That?s fine. I?ll be here when you get back.?

After refusing Triplett?s demand to take off her pants, Triplett used to force to undress her, whereupon he sexually assaulted her, the victim said.

Triplett, a member of the Milwaukee-area hip-hop group Coo Coo Cal, has not been connected to a similar incident at Ogg Hall Oct. 13, when a resident was sexually assaulted on a different floor.

Triplett is 6 foot 2 and weighs 185 pounds. Police have asked anyone who might know Triplett?s whereabouts to call 262-2957.
