Conservative author David Horowitz, who became the center of national uproar when he publicly denounced slavery reparations in college newspapers last February, will delay his anticipated visit to the UW-Madison campus this semester.

Horowitz was originally scheduled to speak about his views on reparations on Nov. 20 as part of the Distinguished Lecture Series; however, health issues have forced him to reschedule his date to Dec. 11.

Horowitz will also make his new book, “Uncivil Rights,” available when he speaks.

“Uncivil Rights” details the events of last semester, including a protest against the Badger Herald stemming from the newspaper’s decision to run the anti-reparations ad, titled “Ten Reasons Why Reparations for Slavery are Bad for Blacks — And Racist Too.”

Horowitz’ visit will be countered with a speech by civil rights activist Randall Robinson on Dec. 4.
