The investigation into a rash of hit-and-runs a month ago has left officers with no further leads.
On the night of Friday, Sept. 14, a woman died when a vehicle hit her on the 1400 block of East Washington Avenue, between First Street and Thornton Avenue.
The next night, a female UW student was struck by a car at the intersection of Bedford Street and West Washington Avenue. Madison Police Department Lieutenant Wayne Strong said little progress has been made in the criminal investigation of either incident.
Possible leads into the makes and models of the cars involved in both incidents have been investigated.
?We have a make on the vehicle that resulted in the fatality, but we are yet to question the driver of the vehicle. As to the incident of the next night, we have no leads in that investigation,? said Strong.
MPD representatives stressed the department’s desire to solve the hit-and-run cases.
“We’re not interested in prosecuting anyone underage who would have been a witness to the hit-and-runs, but just want any information to help us solve the case,” MPD Lt. Stephanie Bradley Wilson said.
