The Madison Police Department has new leads into two hit-and-run incidents that occurred Sept. 8 and Sept. 23, but needs witnesses’ help in solving the cases.
The vehicle police believe hit a pedestrian Sept. 8 on the corner of West Washington Avenue and Bedford Street has been identified as a silver or gray four-door Ford Taurus with damage to the front right portion of the vehicle.
In addition, the previously unknown vehicle that struck three pedestrians in the 600 block of University Avenue is described as a dark-colored or gray SUV with Wisconsin license plates ending in the numbers 454. The vehicle may possibly be a GMC Jimmy or Chevy Blazer.
The MPD has reported it has reason to believe there was more than one occupant in the offending vehicles in both cases. Police also reported numerous witnesses to these incidents and are asking those people to contact the MPD.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding these incidents to contact MPD Officer Graham King at 266-4060 or Crime Stoppers at 266-6014. Those providing information leading to the arrest of suspects may be eligible for cash rewards.
