A UW-Madison female staff member and Eagle Heights resident was involved in a shooting incident Aug. 31.

The victim was not injured in the shooting, which took place after she confronted several people creating a disturbance outside the complex. The individuals were possibly attempting to steal tricycles near the building.

The UW Police are investigating the incident and the suspects remain at large. Approximately five suspects fled in a boxy, older-model blue or gray four-door vehicle.

The victim confronted the suspects again, who then allegedly fired two shots at her vehicle with what was believed to be a handgun.

The suspects fled without any stolen items and no one was injured. An employee at Eagle Heights said the incident was alarming in the usually quiet neighborhood.

Anyone with information should call the University Police Department at 262-2957 or 262-TIPS (8477).
