Drewiske, Klubertanz sign NHL contracts

One day after freshman Kyle Turris signed an entry level contract with the Phoenix Coyotes, a pair of seniors did the same.

Team captain Davis Drewiske and assistant captain Kyle Klubertanz, both defensemen, signed deals Tuesday, the Sporting News is reporting.

Klubertanz, a third round draft pick of Anaheim, signed a minor league contract with the Ducks. Drewiske, who was an undrafted free agent, sighned a multi-year entry level contract with Los Angeles.

Both players ended their UW careers this past Sunday at the Kohl Center, where the Badgers lost 3-2 in overtime to the North Dakota Fighting Sioux. Drewiske finished with 41 points in 152 career games, while Klubertanz concluded with 72 points in 158 career games. The defensemen were a part of Wisconsin’s 2006 club that won the NCAA Championship.

A story of the team’s seniors—Drewiske and Klubertanz, along with Matthew Ford and Josh Engel, can be found here.
